CIAC POLICY REGARDING CRITICISM OF OFFICIALS IN A PUBLIC FORUM

The CIAC Board of Control, at its February 25, 2010 meeting, unanimously passed regulations that sanction a coach who chooses to publicly criticize a game official(s). The Board took such action as a result of an increase in the number of incidents where a coach has made negative comments about the game official(s) in a public forum. [more]

SPRING RULES MEETINGS FOR COACHES ARE SET!

Listed below is the schedule for the spring rules interpretations meetings provided to CIAC by officials’ organizations. We instructed all boards to notify the schools they service regarding these meetings so hopefully this notice is just a reminder. As you know, CIAC rules and regulations require head coaches or their designee to represent your school at these important meetings. Other coaches are encouraged to attend, but it is not a requirement. [more]

    CASC SPRING STATE STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

    The Connecticut Association of Schools and the Connection Association of Student Councils announce the Spring State Student Leadership Conference. Registration is now available online. The conference is scheduled for March 19-20, 2010 at Wesleyan University in Middletown with overnight hotel accommodations at the Inn at Middletown. In cooperation with the Wesleyan Upward Bound Program and Wesleyan University, this conference will feature speakers and programs that explore the themes of the 21st century skill: Communication.
