
Coaching Permit Course
Required for All Non-Teacher Certified Coaches
The Connecticut Coaching Education Program (CCEP) in conjunction with the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (CIAC), the Connecticut Association of Athletic Directors (CAAD) and the Connecticut High school Coaches Association (CHSCA), offers the State Department of Education approved 45 clock hour course necessary to obtain a Coaching Permit for all non-teachers. Each 45 hour session will consist of three segments, with fifteen hours of instruction devoted to each of the following areas:
- Sports Psychology
- Care & Prevention of Athletic Injuries
- Legal Aspect of Coaching

Course Information
The course is offered throughout the year concurrent with each sports season in addition to a summer institute. It is NOT recommended that you register for the class during the season in which you coach.
Attendance to all classes is required!
The class usually meets every Wednesday night from 6:30-10 pm except for Power Classes, which are designed to better fit the hectic schedule of a Coach. All classes, except for specified satellite courses, meet at the CAS/CIAC building located at 30 Realty Drive, Cheshire, CT, 06410. Satellite courses are scheduled through various leagues around the state to save on travel for coaches.

- Spring 2008 Session 2
SATELLITE Power Class (3 Consecutive weekends) May 2-3, 9-10 and 16-17 Being held at an OFF SITE Location - AMITY REGIONAL High School, 25 Newton Rd, Woodbridge Hours - Fridays 6-10, Saturdays 9am-8pm
- Summer 2008 Session Power Class (2 Consecutive weekends)
August 7,8&9 and 14,15&16 Hours - Thursdays & Fridays 5-10, Saturdays 8am-8:30pm
- Summer 2008 Session 2
SATELLITE Power Class (2 Extended weekends) July 31, August 2&3, August 8,9 &11, 2008 Being held at an OFF SITE Location - OXFORD High School, 61 Quaker Farms Rd, Oxford Hours - Thursday, Friday's and Monday 5-10pm, Saturday's 8:30am-9pm
- Fall 2008 Session
Class meets every Wednesday Night, August 27-November 12 Hours - 6:30-10pm
- Winter 2008-09 Session - TBD

The fee for the course is $375 and includes all materials. The course can be paid online with a credit card or by mailing in a check. (see registration form). No Refunds will be issued once class has begun.
First Aid and CPR is not a component of this course. A hearing impaired interpreter will be provided, if necessary, for the winter session only.

Registration Information
A registration fee of $375.00 includes tuition and course materials. Payment must be received with prior to the first class in order to guarantee a place on the roster.
Registration will be limited to the first 35 applicants. No refunds will be issued after date of first class.
