MEET THE GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES

The CAS Legislation Committee is pleased to offer a “Meet the Gubernatorial Candidates” series. The first session on February 24, 2010, at CAS will feature a Democratic and Republican candidate. Daniel Malloy and Lt. Governor Richard Fedele will be available separately, at 3:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m., respectively. [more]

SCHOOL OFFICE PERSONNEL 2010 CONFERENCE

This one-day program is designed to support the daily work of school secretaries and administrative assistants and their important contributions to a school’s culture and positive teaching and learning environment. The program includes up-to-the-minute information and practical suggestions to help secretaries do their job even better. [more]

CASC SPRING STATE STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE

The Connecticut Association of Schools and the Connection Association of Student Councils announce the Spring State Student Leadership Conference. Registration is now available online. The conference is scheduled for March 19-20, 2010 at Wesleyan University in Middletown with overnight hotel accommodations at the Inn at Middletown. In cooperation with the Wesleyan Upward Bound Program and Wesleyan University, this conference will feature speakers and programs that explore the themes of the 21st century skill: Communication. The Connecticut Principals’ Center of The Connecticut Association of Schools is again offering a series of workshops focusing on teacher evaluation. Thomas Mooney (Shipman & Goodwin, LLP and the Neag School of Education, UCONN), Diane Ullman (Superintendent, Simsbury Public Schools and Adjunct Professor, UCONN), and Kathleen Butler (Interim Dean, St. Joseph's College) are the presenters. The Outstanding Arts Awards Banquet, for seniors who excel in either the performing or visual arts is being held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 6 P.M. at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville (Southington). Jostens continues their sponsorship of this very successful program. [more]
