OF THE WEEK
Dear Legal Mailbag:
One of the parents at my school asked me for a favor – to let her knitting group meet in a classroom after school – but I told her no because I didn’t want to set a precedent of community groups using my school. Ever since then, however, it seems that I can do no right. According to this parent, recess is too long; the building is too cold; teachers are poorly supervised; you name it. I know that parents have the right to complain, but I think that she went too far last week by circulating a petition “to reassign or fire” me.

Administrators Asked to Join CCT Rubric Evidence Exemplars Committees
The CSDE is looking for building and district administrators to serve on committees that will work this summer to develop exemplars of evidence for the new CCT Rubric. One area of improvement identified with the new rubric is the inclusion of examples of evidence of the types of teacher and student behaviors that would be seen in the classroom for each of the four performance levels. Interested administrators must commit to be present for the meeting dates of the selected content-area committee. Compensation would be $350/day for administrative participants who are using non-district work time for this activity. MORE
