MOVING TO THE NEW LEADER EVALUATION RUBRIC?

Many districts began their administrator evaluation planning with the first edition of the Leader Evaluation Rubric. Since the revision of the rubric, many are now switching to the 2015 version as part of their revised planning for administrator evaluation. If your district is now adopting the 2015 rubric, why not invite CAS to do an in-district workshop? Contact Ev Lyons (elyons@casciac.org) now to schedule a workshop for the 2016-17 academic year.

LEGAL MAILBAG

The Legal Mailbag column is written by Attorney Thomas Mooney of the University of Connecticut's Neag School of Education. Readers are invited to submit short, law-related questions of practical concern to school administrators. One question and its answer will be published in this column each week. Questions may be edited; authors will not be identified; and answers cannot be considered formal legal advice. Please submit questions to: legalmailbag@casciac.org

Dear Legal Mailbag:
It happens every time. One of my fourth grade teachers sent permission slips home with the children a week ago, but she realized the day of the field trip to the dairy farm that one of the parents had not returned the signed permission slip.
