The Assistant Superintendent for Business, Human Resources, and Operations is directly responsible to the Superintendent of Schools for planning, coordinating and directing the business, human resources and related operations of the school district. POSITION: Assistant Superintendent for Business, Human Resources, and Operations (POSTING 19-84) QUALIFICATIONS: -At least 5 years successful experience as an administrator -Administrative certification (092); Business certification (085) preferred, not required -Doctorate Degree is preferred, not required -Requires advanced understanding of recent business management for PK-12 education, including the principles and practices associated with budget accounting, preparation, development and oversight. -Ability to prepare detailed financial reports and deliver formal presentations to large and diverse audiences -Track record of handling contract negotiations and labor relations -Exceptional ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and direct reports SALARY RANGE: COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS KEY DATEs: APPLICATIONS OPEN: NOVEMBER 13 APPLICATIONS CLOSED: NOVEMBER 27, 2019 APPLICATION: Applicants directed to online application at:https://www.applitrack.com/oxfordct/onlineapp/ 1. Copy of certifications Excerpt of Job Responsibilities -Supervises the financial affairs of the District, including all funds, accounting and reporting procedures while maintaining a system for monitoring the operating budget. -Supervise payroll, accounts payable and employee benefits. -Provides executive leadership in the long-range and daily planning, direction and control of all policies, plans and procedures related to the District's business services. -Prepares local, state, and federal financial and statistical reports -Directs and supervises the facilities budget with the Facilities Manager to manage plant operation and maintenance. -Develops and maintains appropriate procedures for recruitment, selection, assignment, and evaluation of personnel, including technical expertise to administrators -Leads bargaining negotiations and labor relations activities. -Acts as Superintendent designee when required.
