Minutes from meeting of 10/7/2002
In attendance: Sal Menzo, Rochelle Schwartz, Carol Janssen, Mike Rafferty, Marie Castle-Good, and Earle Bidwell.Fall Conference:
The conference was cancelled due to low enrollment. By canceling outside of a fourteen day window, we avoided having to pay the hotel expenses.
It we suggested that we consider a joint conference with high school or high and elementary for next year.
Celebrating Teacher of Year and Schools of the Year:
It was determined that we should schedule evening dinner celebrations in Mansfield, East Hartford and Mystic. Earle Bidwell will contact the principals of each school to establish November dates. CAS will contact restaurants, print invitations and handle all arrangements. Schools will be asked to distribute invitations. Earle Bidwell and Mike Rafferty (or a designee) will attend the ceremonies, speak and present awards. Rochelle is willing to go to East Hartford and Marie is willing to fill in on East Hartford or Mansfield (calendar permitting).
The next meeting of the committee will be on January 7, 2003. December 9th meeting is cancelled. Schools of the Year scoring will be the agenda topic.
