1. Exemplary Practices Action Item
a. Mystic Middle School: Fred Baruzzi recommended recertification and the committee voted unanimously to do so.
b. Western Middle School Greenwich: The committee offered suggestions of where evidence still needed to be produced before exemplary status could be granted.
c. Suffield Middle School: Re-certification for School Climate. A visiting committee of, Walt Willet and if needed, Fred Baruzzi and Jim O’Connor will visit Suffield. Earle will draft a letter to the school indicating that a call will be forthcoming.
2. Exemplary Practices: Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: Work Session
a. Recommendations 25, 27, 28 and Next Step: Earle Bidwell commended Susan Muirhead and Rich Dellinger for their online efforts in completing the rubric. The rubric will now be given to one person to align writing styles and proof. A Likert Scale is a possibility for the final draft.
3. Assistant Executive Director’s Report: Earle reported on:
a. CAS Revenue suggestions from the MLPSC have been adopted by the Middle Level Division.
b. Secondary School Reform Update
c. Anti Bullying Program
d. Arts in the Middle – Horace Mann
4. Roundtable and Pizza Supper was held for those interested.
