1.0 Review and Finalize Effective Team Standards: The October 25, 2002 Revision of the Effective Teams Standards was adopted as a “living document.” It was determined that a further step will be to develop a Rubric with values to support each item. The term “look for” under each item would be helpful in developing the Rubric. This will be an agenda item for December. Relative to the instrument, it was suggested that we also add a documentation column.

2.0 Process for Recognizing Teams
2.1 Application: An application should reflect each item in the instrument in a question format with a short (no more than two page) narrative.
2.2 Review Documentation: It was determined that two readers (with a third to adjudicate wide variances) using a rubric would determine which programs should be visited.
2.3 Visitation: The committee has yet to determine a minimum score to qualify for a visit. It was suggested that Schools of the Year might be asked to pilot the instrument to help determine a standard.
2.4 A target timeline is: Application on website February 1, 2003; application deadline March 14, 2003; visitations in April and May.

3.0 IMPACT
3.1 Status: Currently, there are insufficient articles for the next issue.
3.2 Action Plan for securing articles: Committee members will solicit articles and direct them to the CAS office. When the minimum number has been secured, the issue will proceed. Earle Bidwell will also invite the schools of the year and teacher of the year to submit to the publication.
3.3 Elements of Good Teaming Practices: The aforementioned document on middle level teaming standard will for the basis for the position paper and serve as an advertisement for the upcoming team recognition.

Next Meeting: December 5, 2002
