October 20, 2009
In attendance were Meg Shea, Vaughn Ramseur, Christopher Sandford and Earle Bidwell
Last year’s conference was reviewed and it was decided to keep the same format and schedule for the conference.
The list of presenters was reviewed and decisions were made as to which workshops were the most popular, affordable and should be continued. The following will be pursued:
Photograms, Acrylic and mixed media, Computer Photoshop, Plein Air, Indigenous Art of Australia, Water Color, Pen and Ink, Stuck on You, Cartooning, Self Portraits, Drawing, Printmaking. It was also decided to follow up with Heather Groenstein from Hartford Magnet Middle School.
Committee members agreed to make contact with the artists in order to secure their services as early as possible. Here is a list of the artists and the contact person:

With the increasing pressure on the CAS building, it was decided to explore other storage options. Earle will do this.
Janice will be asked to make arrangements with the food service people at UHART. As always, Janice will be distributing a Save the Date in November. This year it will be sent electronically as it will reach a wider audience, including teachers who have attended in the past. The date for Arts in the Middle is Tuesday, May 18, 2010.
The next meeting of the committee is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19th at 4:00 p.m.
