STUDENT ACTIVITIES BOARD OF CONTROLSummary – October 2, 2003

1. Applications and Actions.
• Long Island Sound Foundation Photography Contest (New) - Approved.
• CT Consortium for Law and Citizenship Education High school Mock Trial (Renewal) - Approved.
• CT Consortium for Law and Citizenship Education Middle School Mock Trial (Renewal) – Approved.
• Rotary International New Generations Conference (Renewal) – Approved.
• Cheshire High School Music in Motion Band Competition (Renewal) – Approved.
• CT Coalition for Organ and Tissue Donation Poster Contest (Renewal) – Approved.
• Governor’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities Youth Leadership Forum (Renewal) – Approved.
• CT Association of DECA State Career Development Conference (Renewal) – Approved.
• Plainville High School 10th Annual Cheer Competition (Renewal) –Referred to CIAC/SABC Cheerleading Committee.
West Haven High School Band Exhibition (New)- Approved pending receipt of competed application.
• CT Poetry Society Lynn DeCaro Memorial Poetry Contest (Renewal) -

2. SABC Goals/Activities from the CAS Three Year Plan were reviewed. Committee members were asked to identify by the November meeting those they would be interested and/or willing to pursue.
3. The new cheerleading strictures were reviewed. Mike B. will prepare a draft of regulations to complement them as well as publicize them to principals and athletic directors
4. Information was distributed pertaining to the October CANHS and CASC Advisor workshops.
5. Mike B. agreed to prepare a draft of an activities assessment for the November meeting.
