In attendance were: Fred Baruzzi, Ann Cox, Sue Dumas, Sandra Inga, Ann Richardson, David Russell, Laurie Slade, Jim Slattery, Ralph White and Earle Bidwell
1. IMPACT Focus Topic “Curriculum and Instruction” A considerable amount of the meeting time was used in reviewing the belief statements brainstormed at an earlier meeting, examining the “Elements of an Exemplary Middle Level School” developed by the Wisconsin Association for Middle Level Education and the rubric created by the CAS Middle Level Program Committee to determine the CAS School of the Year. It was determined that there was a lot of redundancy among the documents and that collectively they contained all the information necessary to create a position paper. Earle Bidwell will create a draft before the next meeting.
2. Exemplary Practice “School Climate” The Wisconsin and CAS documents were the centerpiece of a discussion to begin the process of developing a rubric for the exemplary practice on climate. Again, Earle Bidwell will write a draft for the next meeting.
