October 11, 2005
In attendance were: Joe Scheideler, Linda Anania, Fred Baruzzi, Sharon Bunyan, Thomas Heffernan and Earle Bidwell
1. Greetings and Introductions: Chairman Joe Scheideler greeted the committee and introduced new member to the group.
2. Brief History of the Committee and the Conference Format: Tom Heffernan, a veteran member of the committee shared a brief history of the work of the leadership conference begun 13 years ago.
3. Date for Conference: There was a discussion regarding the pros and cons of keeping a March date in light of the change in CMTs to March. Quinnipiac University has indicated that it would be possible to hold the conference during their winter break (January 2-20). It was decided that while the CMT window is a month long and schools could schedule around our traditional date, it would create a negative perception of CAS and the conference if we did not adjust. The new date for the conference is January 10 with a snow date the following day (per a follow-up contact with the University).
4. Next Steps ( Define and Assign): Joe Scheideler made the following assignments.

b. Opening Activity: Joe Scheideler
c. Large Group Sessions: Troy Monroe and Paul Osypuck
d. Adult Presenters for concurrent sessions: Jody Goeler and Sharon Bynum, Linda Anania (Earle will e-mail contact information to Jody and Sharon and Linda (They will need to coordinate their contacts)
e. Student Presenters for concurrent sessions: Joe and Jen Buckley
f. Publicity: CAS Staff
g. Advisor Session(s) Fred Baruzzi
h. Contract and Site Visit: CAS Staff
i. Advance Registration : CAS Staff
j. Packets: All
5. It was decided that the advisor workshop would be a structured roundtable and sharing session. Attendees would be invited to bring their ideas and initiative to share with colleagues.
6. Tom Heffernan recalled that last year the student presenters were under prepared for their concurrent sessions. He suggested that training packet be assembled to assist them in their preparation. Tom will be in charge of preparing the packet.
7. Executive Director’s Report: Earle Bidwell reported on the upcoming Hartford Area Administrator’s dinner, vacancies in the “Respect Me” session for October.
8. The next meeting is scheduled for November 8, 2005
Addendum: Jen Buckley is on-board for the conference! Janice Grecco has mailed out invitation letters to past presenters. The leadership registration has been completed, is on-line and flyers mailed out to all schools.
