Assistant Principal Committee To Hold Workshop On Improving School Climate

The Assistant Principal committee, in cooperation with CTSDE and CEA, is pleased to offer a workshop, “The Role of the Assistant Principal in Improving School Climate” on April 26th featuring nationally recognized author and researcher, Stan Davis.
Assistant Principals play an important role in creating a school climate that embraces respect for students, teachers, and staff. This conference will feature a presentation by Stan Davis, a nationally recognized researcher, author and expert on school climate. Since 1985 Stan Davis, a guidance counselor at James H. Bean Elementary School in Sidney, Maine, has been proactively designing programs to prevent bullying in schools. His work has been featured in several media outlets including an appearance on 20/20. Stan is the author of “Where Everyone Belongs: Practical Strategies to Reduce Bullying” as well as “Empowering Bystanders in Bullying Prevention”.

Goal: Assistant Principals will learn how to create a respectful environment that allows all students to learn at their full capacity.

The workshop will take place in Conference Room C2 at the CAS Office, 30 Realty Drive in Cheshire on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 8:30 am until 12:15 pm. Registration is $25 per attendee and is open to all Assistant Principals and School Climate Committee Members at ALL education levels. CEU’s will be available. Lunch will be served.
