17th Annual Governor’S Scholars Awards Program

The Connecticut Association of Schools is proud to announce the seventeenth annual Governor’s Scholars Award Program for high school juniors. CAS is delighted to coordinate this prestigious program that is designed to honor academic excellence.

A committee of educators from throughout Connecticut will select thirty finalists from nominations submitted by the one hundred ninety-three CAS member high schools. Nominees are assigned a composite score based on rank in class, PSAT or SAT scores, CAPT scores (for public schools only) and a timed (one-hour) student essay. Selection criteria are available in the application packet that was recently mailed to each CAS member high school principal.

All finalists and their parents will be invited to attend the Governor’s Scholars Luncheon in May. Finalists will also receive a cash award, a plaque, and the opportunity to enrich their studies on a college campus before graduation from high school.

For information regarding the program, please contact Noreen Liberopoulos in the CAS office at nliberopoulos@casciac.org or 203-250-1111. All required documentation must be postmarked no later than March 7, 2013.
