"Big Six" Release Joint Statement On Education Reform

Last week, the “Big Six” - the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS), Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS), Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA), Connecticut Council for Education Reform (CCER), and Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now (ConnCAN) - released a joint statement on education reform.

Despite their varying constituencies and organizational objectives, these six associations have united to share common positions on several key issues including:

• teacher and principal evaluation and support
• educator preparation and certification
• student-centered learning
• school and district accountability
• school finance
• early childhood
