Implementing A 21st Century Student Advisory Program

Many Connecticut schools are choosing advisories as one vehicle for achieving personalization, connecting students to adults, developing a framework for student success plans and improving school climate. This one day workshop will help your school plan and implement a successful advisory program.

This workshop will help school counselors and teacher teams plan and implement a successful student advisory program in their school. The day will enable teams to design the nine advisory components including goals, grouping, schedule, faculty training, and program evaluation. Participants will also learn how to create appropriate advisory curriculum, content, and activities using established ready-to-use resources. Special attention will be given to logical advisory connections to improve school climate and implement student success plans.

The workshop will be held on October 10 from 8:30 am and will run until 2 pm in Conference Center C2 at the CAS Offices, located at 30 Realty Drive, Cheshire, CT 06410. The presenters will be Dave Maloney, CAS Assistant Executive Director and Scott Brown, LEARN Educational Consultant.

Individuals may attend for $40 each, teams of three may register for $90.
