Fourth Annual Ciac Sportsmanship Conference Registration Is Now Open!
The fourth annual CIAC Sportsmanship Conference will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Aqua Turf Club, in Plantsville, Connecticut.
The program is designed to promote and reinforce the theme “Sportsmanship is Everyone’s Responsibility” and the enhancement of sportsmanship at all middle and high school athletic events.
CIAC sportsmanship standards and expectations will be reviewed to promote consistent application at all Connecticut interscholastic sporting events.
The program will feature motivational speaker Harvey Alston. The program will include concurrent break-out sessions conducted by the students who attended the National Federation Student Leadership Conference and Mr. Alston for the students. Additionally, a workshop for the adult advisors in attendance will be offer on how to deal with difficult fans and patents and the sharing of best practice by several schools.
The 2009-2010 CIAC Michael’s Cup winners will be formally recognized during the lunch portion of the program. Schools may register a maximum of five individuals consisting of four (4) student-athletes and one (1) adult (coach, athletic director, or school administrator).
