Teacher Evaluation Series Features: Tom Mooney-Diane Ullman-Kathleen Butler

The Connecticut Principals’ Center of The Connecticut Association of Schools is again offering a series of workshops focusing on teacher evaluation. Thomas Mooney (Shipman & Goodwin, LLP and the Neag School of Education, UCONN), Diane Ullman (Superintendent, Simsbury Public Schools and Adjunct Professor, UCONN), and Kathleen Butler (Interim Dean, St. Joseph's College) are the presenters.

Tom's workshops (2/23 and 3/1) will focus on understanding the "do's and don'ts" of writing teacher evaluations from a legal perspective; Diane's workshop (3/15) will focus on supervision and evaluation: a tool for ensuring a guaranteed and viable curriculum; and Kathleen's workshops (3/23 and 3/31) will focus on leadership styles, supervision, and the professional development of teachers.

The sessions are designed to provide administrators with an opportunity to fulfill the requirements of the amendment to the Connecticut General Statutes which mandates the completion of 15 of the required 90 hours of continuing education in the area of teacher evaluation.
