CIAC 2019 Rules & Regulations Summer Workshop (For New Athletic Directors and School Personnel)
This year the workshop will be held over a two-day period - Thursday, August 22, 8am - 1pm and Friday, August 23, 8am - 2pm. (Lunch provided both days.) On Day 1, 8am - 1pm and Day 2, 8am - 10am, the CIAC will offer superintendents, high school principals and new athletic directors a complete overview of CIAC regulations and procedures. CIAC online Eligibility Center procedures will also be reviewed. On Day 2, 10am - 2pm, new AD's only will be given important information about the organization that represents their profession and receive a national course LTC 502. All first year AD's must bring a laptop on this day. This course takes a basic approach to the fundamentals and methods of athletic administration and alerts and educates athletic administrators regarding potential problems and possible solutions in areas such as budget, transportation, scheduling and parent/student/coach conflicts. The course also touches upon department organizational charts, activity procedures/checklist, public relations, coaching applications/assessments and emergency plans. Casual attire is recommended.
