CAS Leadership Academy - 2026-27

At a time when retaining teachers is a significant challenge, the CAS Leadership Academy offers districts a pathway for their teacher leaders to gain advanced competencies to lead at the classroom, school and district level. The Academy is appropriate for individuals or small teams. Ideal candidates are team-oriented; embrace opportunities for new learning and new responsibilities; and aspire to affect change.

Participants will engage in a variety of activities during four full-day and one half-day sessions to be held at the Connecticut Association of Schools office at 30 Realty Drive, Cheshire, CT.

Participating districts must require their attending teacher leader(s) to engage in a district-based leadership project. CAS will provide the guidance needed to help structure this experience. The five sessions are scheduled as follows:

• Wednesday, September 23, 2026 / 8:30 AM-2:30 PM
• Wednesday, November 11, 2026 / 8:30 AM-2:30 PM
• Wednesday, January 13, 2027 / 8:30 AM-2:30 PM
• Wednesday, March 17, 2027 / 8:30 AM-2:30 PM
• Wednesday, April 28, 2027 / 8:30 AM-12:30 PM

CAS has conducted in-district leadership academies in Derby, Meriden, and Waterford, among others, with outstanding results in all districts.
