The December Dilemma and Beyond: Best Practices for Holidays at Schools
Every December, public school students, parents, teachers and administrators face the difficult task of acknowledging the various religious and secular holiday traditions celebrated during that time of year. Participants will learn strategies to promote greater understanding and respect among students of different traditions by taking care to adhere to the requirements of the First Amendment. We will not confine the discussion to December; we will discuss the challenges and opportunities of increasingly diverse student bodies and what every principal should know. Learn best practices, legal requirements and hear from an interfaith panel on how to create a welcoming school environment around holiday time.- No Charge for participants from CAS member schools. Participants from non-Member schools will be assessed a fee of $50.- Select your school under "Affiliation". Select your district under "Affiliation" ONLY if you work in Central Office.
