Fall Leadership Institute

Registration is now OPEN for the Annual Fall Leadership Institute (formerly the Summer Leadership Institute), Sept. 21, 2018 at The Heritage Hotel in Southbury and Sept. 28, 2018 at CAS, Cheshire. CAS, with support from the Clifford Beers Foundation, is again sponsoring the Institute. This year’s theme is “Leading Our Schools To Develop Resilient Learners” The keynote presentation will be offered by Jane Todey, ED.S. “Addressing Barriers to Learning and Teaching & Re-engaging Disconnected Students”. In addition to our keynoter, workshops will be offered by educators from the following school districts: Regional School Districts 1 & 9, New Canaan Public Schools, as well as the University of Connecticut and ALIVE. On Friday, Sept. 28th, Patrick Flynn, CEO of ReVision Learning, Diane Dugas, Education Consultant, will facilitate follow-up discussions and action plan development, during a half-day session at CAS. Additional features of this year’s Institute will be the onsite presence for Day 1 of a number of community providers who can support the work described in the workshops and provide resources for the action planning phase of our work as well as the screening of the film, Resilience, which describes the long term effects of adverse childhood experiences on adults.
