Play Based Learning: Meeting Standards Through Purposeful Play While Supporting Executive Function Skills
Research shows that young children learn best through play. When children play, they are using many executive function components that are important learning and life skills – problem solving, self-regulation, cooperation with others, cognitive flexibility, negotiation, and creativity. In this session, we will explore how play based learning can help address CT Core Standards while simultaneously providing children the opportunity to work on and apply executive function skills.
