Translating the Law of Transgender Students into Practical Application
A review of the current status of federal and Connecticut laws as they apply to students who identify themselves as transgender and to translate those legal requirements into practical, school-based applications. Presentation will feature discussion, as well as questions and answers, pertaining to the steps school personnel must take to ensure compliance with the law as it applies to school records, use of bathrooms and locker rooms, participation in athletics, and other extracurricular activities. For staff from CAS member schools and districts there will be no charge to attend. For staff from non-CAS member schools and districts the cost will be $50.00 to attend.
