2012 Casc High School Spring State Leadership Conference

High school student leaders and their advisors have a terrific opportunity on March 16 & 17.

Three nationally recognized leadership presenters will be featured in a series of workshops designed to improve school climate. Online registration is open for the annual Spring State Leadership Conference at Wesleyan University in Middletown, in cooperation with the Wesleyan Upward Bound Program and Wesleyan University.

This conference will explore the themes of the 21st century skill: I'm a Leader...So Now What? Focus will lie on the essential question: How Am I Responsible for My Actions & Inactions? Featured this year are THREE speakers: Dr. Bryan Shelly, Professor at Wake Forest University and Pennsylvania Association's Director of Student Councils Summer Workshop; Todd Burlingham, Coordinator of Student Leadership at the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals; and motivational speaker Derek Felton, author of the book, "Brilliance is Your Birthright".

New to this year is the "Hot Topic Facilitator Training." One student, selected by the advisor, will attend a special training workshop in facilitating difficult conversations.

Registration deadline is Friday, March 2, 2012.
